THE COMPLICATIONS OF GLITTER

SONG LYRICS

The girl named Glitter
She don't know me
But I love her
Yeah, it's complicated, I know
She looks right through me
She stares at pictures
She only wants the boys
   (she only wants the boys)
She only wants the boys
(she only wants the boys in the band)
The boys in the band

The girl named Glitter
She walks above me
She loves Porsches
She gets frustrated
She knows they're out there, there somewhere
Drive without her
She only wants the boys
   (she only wants the boys)
She only wants the boys
(she only wants the boys in the band)
The boys in the band, ah-oh
Boys in the band

Ha-ha-ah, ha-ha-ah

She only wants the boys
   (she only wants the boys)
She only wants the boys
The boys in the band

The girl named Glitter
Knocks on the bus door
Tries to get lucky
Yeah, get elevated inside
And I'll still love her
I want her happy
She only wants the boys
   (she only wants the boys)
She only wants the boys
(she only wants the boys in the band)
The boys in the band

The girl named Glitter
She don't know me
But I love her
Yeah, it's complicated, I know
I see her crying
At the stage door

She only wants the boys (ah)
She only wants the boys (ah)
She only wants the boys (ah)
She only wants the boys (ah)
The boys in the band, ah-oh
The boys in the band, ah-oh
The boys in the band, ah-oh
The boys in the band, ah-oh

SONG NOTES

The following is an excerpt from the Asbury Park Press (1/23/04):

A fan known as Glitter inspired the title track of Calio's solo album.

"She was this cute, thin girl with really long straight hair, who used to come out to our shows in Philadelphia and she would hang out," Calio recalled. "She called herself Glitter and she reminded me of the girls I liked in high school, who would hang out with bands after shows and how could you compete with that? They were incredibly cool. So this girl Glitter made a huge impression on me."

Calio hasn't seen Glitter since 1996. "I wonder if she cut her hair," Calio said. "At least she left me with some inspiration."
